Solid experience since 2008

Sunfish started almost 20 years ago, and the experience shows in how we take on an assignment. We recognise situations, notice sooner when something risks becoming unnecessarily complicated, and know when it is time to start building.

Our clients work with us, not through us.

We have no method that fits everything.

That we have been working for a long time does not mean we work the way we used to. The way we work has changed many times.

Which problem are we trying to solve? What matters most to the person who will use it? What can be made simpler? What does not need to be done at all?

That is where experience matters: we have become good at seeing consequences and making trade-offs together with our clients.

We work close to the people who will use the system.

Better a conversation when a question arises than a long process for handling it. Better to show something early and discuss it together than to work for a long time from assumptions.

Experience becomes more important as the pace increases.

AI makes a lot of things faster. We can explore, build and test in a way that was not possible only a few years ago.

That does not mean every idea should be realised, or that every project should go faster.

Instead, we can try more before we decide, and find the problems earlier.

After many years we know better what works in practice. That experience cannot be automated, but it becomes more useful with the tools we have today.

Technology changes.The experience remains.

We feel no nostalgia for old tools or processes, and we are glad to change how we work when something better appears.

What we take with us is the experience of having built, launched, maintained, got it wrong and tried again, and of good results almost always beginning with people who understand each other.
